Swimming

This week JAS participated in swimming lessons down at Aquamoves. I would like to say a huge thank you to the following parents: Karamjit, Darren, Alban, Elida, Tanya, Lucy, Grace, Leah, Belinda and Ann, who helped to change and dress the students during the week. Without your help, the week would not have run as smoothly or as quickly and I really appreciated the extra hands!

Here is some of the students’ writing about their swimming experience and some pictures of them in action!

At swimming yesterday I did torpedo. And I used a kick board. It was fun.

National Simultaneous Reading Time

This year’s book for National Simultaneous Reading Time was Aaron Blabey’s The Brothers Quibble. We watched Aaron read his story with our buddies this morning before having a go at making friendship bracelets together. Below are both the story, which you may like to enjoy listening to again, and the video on how to make friendship bracelets, so you can have a go at making them at home. Enjoy!

Grade 1 Colour Run

On Wednesday the 6th of May, in the afternoon, all the Grade 1 students at Bourchier Street Primary School participated in the Colour Run. The Colour Run was held at Bourchier Street Primary School on the oval. We held a Colour Run because we wanted to raise for the Save the Children charity. Save the Children use the money to help children around the world who are not as lucky as us. As a class, we managed to raise $30 to help Save the Children.

If you missed the Colour Run, you can check out the slideshow below as see how it all went down! Also, there is going to be a short clip about the Colour Run on the Local Win News at 7pm Thursday 7th after the weather so make sure you don’t miss it!

After we melted the butter and golden syrup in the pan and added some hot water and bi-carb soda. Then we stirred the wet and dry mixture together. Next we got some mixture out of the bowl and rolled them into balls. We put them in the oven. Finally we got to eat the ANZAC biscuits. They were delicious.
